Rich blue, trumpet-shaped flowers make up the impressive flower heads of this tall African lily. Forming open clusters on top of slender but sturdy stems, which rise from amongst the clumps of slender, strap-shaped foliage in midsummer, they are ideal for cutting, or if left on the plant, will go on the produce attractive seedheads.
- Garden care: Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser throughout the growing season. Keep reasonably dry during the winter and protect the crowns with a dry mulch in the autumn. Divide plants that have become too big in spring, but remember you will often get more flowers when the roots are constricted.
