In spring, the low-growing tufts of slender green foliage are topped with dazzling white, star-shaped flowers. If you look closely, you can see each of the six petals has a faint grey stripe running through its centre towards the darker eye. This is a large-flowered and robust form, which multiplies to form generous clumps over time. - Garden care: Plant bulbs 10cm deep and 10cm apart from September to November. Provide a generous layer of protective mulch in autumn. In colder areas plant them into a pot so they can be over-wintered in an unheated greenhouse.
