Hepatica 'Forest Blue' (Forest Series)
hepatica
- Position: partial shade
- Soil: fertile, moist but well-drained neutral to alkaline soil
- Rate of growth: slow growing
- Flowering period: March to April
- Hardiness: fully hardy
A very pretty (and extremely rare) spring-flowering perennial that makes a fine addition to the woodland floor. Where space is limited plant them at the front of a partially shaded border where you can admire the pale blue flowers at close range. - Garden care: Hepaticas resent being moved, so try to plant them where they can remain undisturbed for several years. Apply a generous layer of mulch in autumn or immediately after flowering.
