Native to New Zealand, this is a tough little evergreen grass that can cope with sun or shade, exposed conditions and drought. It forms a small, mound, with finely rolled blue leaves that hold their colour throughout the winter and have a rubbery feel to the touch. Arching flower stems carry open clusters of green to blue-brown flowers in summer which fade to brown as they mature.
  • Garden care: Lightly trim the clump in spring, Once or twice a year run your fingers through the tussock to remove dead foliage. Divide congested plants in spring.
