A treat for the garden or open woodland, the dainty flowerheads of this species tulip have disticntly pointed petals, which peel backwards as the flowers age. Initially upright on the slender stems, the flowers become more nodding, until they almost resemble miniature daffodils. This one has the same colouring (yellow with a distinct green flush) as its parent T. sylvestris, but the flowers of this one are larger.

  • Garden care: From September to December plant bulbs 15-20cm deep and 10-15cm apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Alternatively, allow 7-9 bulbs per 30cm sq. After flowering dead-head and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser each week for the first month.
