A striking plant that is perfect for moist woodland or other shady spots in the garden. These are very unusual looking plants that produce mid-green leaves in early spring that are attractively mottled with silver or light green markings. In April dark maroon, musk-scented flowers appear with wedge-shaped petals that can grow up to 5cm long.

  • Garden care:Plant rhizomes 5cm deep and 5cm apart in autumn. Once planted they are best left undisturbed so they can build up their numbers. Mulch in the autumn with a generous layer of leafmould.
