The colour of the flaring, trumpet-shaped flowers intensifies towards the outer edges of the petals, but the overall effect is the palest blue. Like all the hyaciths it has a good, sweet smell, and it works equally well in pots on the patio or planted out in the border. These make handsome additions to the bedding scheme and can be teamed up with winter-flower pansies or white bellis.
- Garden care:
Using gloves plant bulbs 10-15cm (4-6in) deep and 15cm (6in) apart in early or mid-autumn.
