The outer edge of each petal is slightly paler than the rest, but overall the colour is as intense and rich as you can get. It makes a big impact to a spring bedding scheme or seasonal planter, and it looks great when underplanted with low-growing spring flowers like Anemone blanda (especially the blue ones), or teamed teamed up with deep plum coloured tulips.
