Larger than average, greyish-white to pale lilac flowers, which are loved by bees, form on relatively stout, upright stems in autumn. An easy to grow bulb that is ideal for naturalising and looks most impressive when planted in bold drifts.
- Garden care: Plant bulbs in naturalistic drifts 10cm (4in) deep in late July or August in gritty, well-drained soil. Where bulbs are planted in grass do not cut the lawn until after the leaves have died back.
