• Position: full sun or partial shade
• Soil: moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil
• Rate of growth: average to fast-growing
• Flowering period: June to October
• Flowering colour: mixed, including shades of blue, purple, pink, red, yellow and white.
• Hardiness: fully hardy
  
  Plant these in clumps or drifts near the front of a border, or cram them into pots and baskets to provide oddles of colour in summer. The traditional pansy-faced flowers (ie with a blotch on the petals) come in a dazzling mix of colours and if deadheaded regularly may flower for even longer.
  
  Grown in individual plug cells, each plant measures about 4 - 6 cm tall (from the base of the root to the top of the plant). They can be grown on or planted straight out into the garden.
