Artemisia stelleriana 'Boughton Silver'
- Position: full sun
- Soil: well-drained, fertile soil
- Rate of growth: average
- Flowering period: August
- Flower colour: yellow
- Hardiness: fully hardy
This handsome evergreen perennial is primarily grown for its deeply toothed, silver-grey foliage, which creeps across the ground forming very attractive low mounds. In late summer and early autumn, it does produce yellow flowerheads, but these are quite insignificant and many people prefer to pick them off. Ideally suited to hot, dry spots, it looks wonderful spilling over the edges of a Mediterranean-style border or creeping through a rockery. It also works a treat in a pot.
- Garden care: Apply a generous mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around base of the plant.
