Symptoms

Odd flowers of a different colour to those of the main flowers of the plant are produced.

Cause

Cultivars are created from two parent plants. The genes of these parents are often stronger than those of the cultivars. Occasionally, the characteristics of the parent emerge, overtaking the weaker cultivar.

Harm

Not harmful as a rule, it just looks odd.

Treatment

  • Organic - cut out affected flowers as they appear.
