Why go organic
With so many disturbing stories about modern farming highlighted in the media, the organic system is striking a chord with many gardeners as the sense of trust is lost in contemporary methods of food production. Being more organic in the garden is about looking to the long-term rather than the short-term, creating a sustainable future. There is no need to fall into the belief that going organic has to be an ‘all or nothing’ approach. The smallest change away from the chemical to natural methods of gardening makes a difference, every bit is important. It may seem a daunting task to undertake an organic approach when you are used to chemical solutions in your garden, but it is easy and rewarding - so why don't you give it a try? It took me several years to build up the useful predators in my garden, but now the balance is much better. You do need patience, but it is achievable.
